1. Reservation Process: Hotel reservations should be made in advance (until march 15th) to ensure availability. Mandatory Arrival and departure dates: 24/04/2024 to 28/04/2024 - A minimum of a 4 days reservation (arrival day 24th and departure day 28th are mandatory) and arrival or departure in less days that the scheduled will incur in an 80euro per person per day penalty. - Extra day (different from the 24th-28th reservation) charged at 120,00 euro per pax per day.

 

2. Cancellation Policy: Minimum 50% of total entry fee should be deposited at our bank no later than March 10th. to guarantee the booking. The remaining payment should be made on arrival. The organizer will only accept transfers (bank charges will be charged to the remitter. Bank cheque and credit card will not be accepted. - Cancellations must be made at least April 1st . - Late cancellations or no-shows may result in NO reimburse. In special cases such as injury, visas denied, flight cancellation - delay, etc. a 50% be reimbursed.

 

3. Check-In and Check-Out info: - Check-in time is 2.00 p. m. - Check-out time is 11:00 a. m. - Early check-in or late check-out requests are subject to availability and may incur in additional charges.

 

4. Payment and Billing: - Minimum 50% of total entry fee must be paid, via bank transfer.

I am pleased to invite you to the FISU WORLD UNIVERSITY CHAMPIONSHIP that will take place in Pereira-Risaralda (Colombia), at the Aquatic Sport Village, on 26th and 27th April 2024.

I am truly honoured that FISU has awarded ASCUN and, consequently, FEDECAS and the Organising Committee that I chair, this very prestigious sport event.

I hope that the by hosting the FISU World University Championship in Colombia, Finswimming will benefit from a visibility boost and, therefore, gain further popularity in all America.

DENOMINATION:

The International University Sports Federation (FISU), the Colombian University Sports Federation (ASCUN), the Colombian Underwater Federation FEDECAS and the Organising Committee have the honour of inviting you to participate in the sport event which will be held in Pereira-Risaralda (Colombia), from 26/04/2024 to 27/04/2024 on the occasion of the celebration of the PEREIRA RISARALDA – FISU World University Championship Finswimming 2024. This competition will be held under CMAS Finswimming Rules and the present specific rules.

COMPETITION PLACE:

The Competition will be held in:

Olympic swimming pool of Aquatic Complex – Pereira (Risaralda) – 10 lanes, 50 meters long and a constant depth 3,0 m.

World University Championship Finswimming:

a) Be a national of the country they represent.

b) Be at least 18 and no older than 25 years of age on the 31st December of the year of the event; for 2024, athletes must be born between the 01/01/1999 and the 31/12/2006.

The competitions include the following events:

Individuals’ disciplines (men and women)

50m AP, 100m SF, 200m SF, 400m SF, 800m SF, 50m BF, 100m BF, 200m BF, 400m BF.

Relays (mixed)

4x50m SF mixed, 4x100m SF mixed, 4x50m BF mixed, 4x100m BF mixed.

A mixed team is composed of 4 athletes (2 men and 2 women).

Each athlete may participate to the individual and relay events.

Each delegation can register two athletes per individual event in men and women category.

The number of disciplines by athletes is not limited. A maximum of 36 athletes is allowed per country.

Each delegation can register two (2) team for each relay event.

Each athlete can be entered in several relays.

The delegation may include the following officials, according to the number of participants

entered:

• up to nine participants: two officials

• up to 20 participants: four officials

• over 20 participants: five officials

At the Technical meeting, the Head of Delegation or his/her representative shall confirm and sign

the official list of competitors accredited by the CIC.

​

EQUIPMENT:

​

Equipment must be CMAS approved.

Equipment needed is listed in the Finswimming Rules CMAS.

​

FISU World University Championship from 26/04/2024 to 27/04/2024

Entry fee per participant is 80,00 Euro per night per person. The organizer will provide:

• Accommodation in three-star hotels with double or triple hotel rooms full board.

• Drinking water during the meals included.

• Transfers from Pereira airport to hotel and return.

• Transfer from/to the hotel and the competition venue.

• Extra charges for single room ascend to 50,00 euro per pax per night.

• Extra day charged at 120,00 euro per pax per day

Full board accommodation is considered as breakfast, warm lunch, warm dinner and water drink per meal included.

PAYMENT:

​

All registration of athletes and officials for events must be submitted only through electronic way by the National University Sport Federation. For registration the website is:

Opening date of registration: 1st November 2023 / Closing date: 1st April 2024

Entry forms must be submitted in the FISU Online Accreditation System according to FISU procedure and must be received under the following procedure:

Deadline for entry:

a. General entries (engagement of participation – Annex 1) at least six months before the beginning of the 2024 FISU World University Championship.

b. Quantitative entries (confirmation of participation – Annex 2) with the number of officials and participants in each sports event, and with the payment of the deposit of 50% of the participation fees, at least three months before the beginning of the 2024 FISU World University Championship.

c. Individual entries (conditions for participation – Annex 3) with the list of competitors and substitutes, the events to which they will participate and the necessary photographs, one month before the beginning of the 2024 FISU World University Championship.

Entry requirements:

1. Entry forms shall be submitted in the FISU Online Accreditation System to meet the required entry deadlines.

2. Entries arriving after the expiration of the required deadlines will not be taken into consideration, except in the case of circumstances outside one's control, with the agreement of the Organising Committee and FISU.

The Organising Committee will provide to the FISU family, participants and all accredited persons free and adequate medical care including initial response and follow-up, immediate medical care as indicated. This medical care includes appropriate emergency care at all training and competition venue sites.

DOPING CONTROL: 

​

Doping control follows the international rules of WADA, FISU and CMAS antidoping code.

​

​

The International University Sports Federation (FISU), the Colombian University Sports Federation (ASCUN), the “2024 FISU World University Championship Finswimming” Organizing Committee, the Event Manager, the Competition Officers and the Chief Judge are not responsible for accidents or damages caused to people and things before, during or after the competition. 

​

SPECIAL NOTES: 

​

This program could be modified for organization cause. Swimmers must be available for the Start Judge with their complete equipment at least 10 minutes before the race start. Awarding ceremonies and protocol according to CMAS RULES.

You can get to PEREIRA RISARALDA by various ways of transportation:

Air

Pereira's airport is the Matecaña International Airport. It was built between 1944 and 1946 and opened in August 1947. It operates both nationally and internationally. It is currently undergoing an expansion which will include a new control tower, a longer runway, new access roads, and new destinations such as New York, which will make Matecaña International Airport one of the most important in the country. In 2016, the airport launched the tendering process for the construction of the new terminal building. Both runway expansions and the new control tower were completed. With the city zoo moving out of Matecaña to the new Biopark Ukumari, these lands have been given to the airport to use for expansion of its access roads and an office and hotel complex.

​

Road

​

Pereira is at the center of the transport hub for Caldas, Risaralda, and Quindio. Autopista del Café are the highways which connect Armenia, Manizales, Pereira and Cartago. Other main urban highways include 30 August Avenue, Circunvalar Avenue, The Americas Avenue, Railway Avenue, Belalcazár Avenue, River Avenue, and Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Streets. Pereira's street system is aligned on a grid, with numbers for carreras going up from the river Otun, and street numbers going up from the neighbourhood of Alfonso Lopez. Beyond Alfonso Lopez, the streets become affixed with a letter E to denote East; for example, the Kennedy neighbourhood is completely composed of streets like Street 7E, Street 10E and so on.

Transportation will be provided for the participants from this airport and also during the event from the hotel to the competition venue and return.

​

The 2024 FISU World University Championship will be held in Pereira Risaralda (Colombia), at the Pereira aquatic Sports Village, located in a valuable position within the urban fabric of Pereira.

THE HISTORY OF FINSWIMMING IN FISU

Since 2014, CMAS has received the agreement from FISU to organise International Finswimming University competitions. From 2018, Finswimming is a FISU Recognised Sport and several endorsed events have been organised. The sport entered officially the FISU sport programme in 2020 and the first University World Cup Finswimming has been held in 2022 in the city of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. The second eddition, will be moved to the World University Championships format and hosted by Colombia in the city of Manizales in 2024.
